Movie Video Files using a Thumb Drive or SD Card
My old Cannon PowerShot saved videos as MVI and I had no trouble transferring them from one computer to another using a thumb drive or SD card. My new Canon PowerShot saves videos as Quicktime movies. I can move them to my computer (which has Vista) with no problem. However, when I try to move them to another computer using an SD card or a Thumb Drive...they no longer have the Quicktime logo and they can not be opened on the other computer.

I don't know...I'll have to check that because it was a friend's computer. But, I could not open the files even from the thumb drive or SD card before they were moved.

The other computer does not have Quicktime installed. I can see the files with a Quicktime icon, and can successfully play them on my computer running VISTA and with Quicktime installed. When the SD card or thumb drive is in the other computer (XP, no quicktime)...even on the SD card or the thumbdrive the icons are not Quicktime, but are instead that icon that asks which program you want to use to open.
