Veo Webcam error

I am getting the following error when trying to take a snapshot with my webcam. I also am unable to use the webcam for a video conference on Skype, Live Messenger, or Yahoo.

Access violation at address 015A3B0C in module 'CamCapEx.dll', Read of address 00000008.

The OS is XP Home addition, and the camera use to work on this PC, just stopped working. Could it be a Microsoft update or Firewall problem?
