Nostalgia...
Hi guys,

I had a photo editor programme before that was my favourite and now i can't find it anywhere. I think maybe it was Microsoft Photo Editor that everyone misses but maybe not, it was about 8 years ago when I had it?

It had loads and loads of tools; transparency brushes being my most needed.

Any ideas would really help.

PSP (Paintshop Pro) was popular around that time and there were free cover-disk versions about. Personally, I would recommend that you transfer your skills to GIMP (free) or bite the big one and go for Photoshop (most definitely not free!).

Microsoft Photo Editor was an ad-on feature included with Office 97. If you have Office 97 disks you can find it but it doesn't automaticly load-you have to pick it from a list of added features. I still have and use it for 80% of my editing-much simpler then most others.

I think it was the Microsoft product if you're remembering the tranparency brush. It came with the MS Digital Image 2006 Editor. I also have the older MS PhotoDraw 2000 Stand alone office component editor which doesn't really have a transparency brush but does have a lot of photo brushes that its easy to customize the transparency of. The former doesn't go back 8 years but PhotoDraw does.

PSP 10 was free for a while, don't know if it still is or not; there was a post in this category I think with the link to get it.

They all work well in Windows 7 as far as I can tell so the future looks fairly bright for these old programs that still retain a unique feature here and there.

Verdict: A great antivirus and antispyware program at no cost

Popular photo editing program series, the latest version of Paint Shop Pro offers plenty of useful features.

It is important to organise the images on a computer, even before starting to edit. This software imports photos and video from digital cameras, and the calendar view makes it simple to find photos.

Slideshows are used to display images and to apply tags and captions. With support for 50 kinds of photo and video file types, there is little chance of not being able to view an image.
