SDHC cards?
Do they make anything bigger than 2GB that is NOT SDHC? I have an old Cannon Powershot A530 which uses regular SD memory and the biggest I have been able to find is 2GB.

Thanks

Nope as the HC implies High Capacity it means bigger sized cards but no compatablity with older SD equipment.

Thats what I was afraid of. Will standard 2GB cards always be available? Also, if i get an HC camera can I use the standard SD cards I have now?

Of course they won't always be available. Go to your local Best Buy and ask for an 8" floppy. The 2GB cards will work in newer cameras, but the pictures a newer camera takes are going to be larger so fewer will fit.

Ya, I know they wont be availeable indefinetly, but at least for the next five years or so, and by then I would think I would be on to a newer camera.

Talked with a Sandisk rep today, he told me Sandisk will continue to make 2GB cards, and the SD cards will work in SDHC cameras, just not the other way around.
