Picasa will tell the jpeg quality of the file .. but I'm not sure if this is referring to the thumbnail or not.
I’m not sure if these numbers help .. more than confuse .. but ..

The pic you sent was a quality of 94 at a file size of 1.77MB
If I save it at a Photoshop quality of 12 … Picasa says it’s a quality of 98 at a file size of 4.79MB
If I save it at a Photoshop quality of 9 …. Picasa says it’s a quality of 91 at a file size of 1.76MB
(This does not really compute ???)

I’m thinking a quality of 9 would be OK .. But if you want to ever edit this file again .. I’d save it as a Photoshop psd file.

To edit a jpeg .. Save it .. and Edit/Save it again .. Just turns it into a several generation Rumor ..
That is regenerated (compressed) with each time it's told.

Is any of this helping ????

Well thanks for going above and beyond Noyb! You certainly didn't have to put that much time or effort into it.

I'll just go with saving at quality 9 for now and that should suffice. I was more curious than anything after first looking into it.

I'll mark this as solved for now. Thanks a lot!
