I have a mac book and am using garage band. I am recording vocals with an AKG D880 mic and am using a PreSonus audio box usb interface. My problem is that I have to turn the preamplifier on the audiobox all the way to max to get a decent recording level on the Garageband vocal track. It then works okay but my concern is that I will damage the interface by having it turned up to the max. And it seems like it shouldn't have to be turned up all the way to get a good level.(You can probably tell I'm not that knowledgeable about tech issues) Anyway, any help would be great!
