Separate DSL and Phone Lines
I have two Verizon lines coming from the alley into my house. I know one is phone and the other DSL. One is an ancient twisted black 3-wire and the other a 10-year-old twisted black 4-wire, although only two of the four wires are used.

I am running new Cat6 data and Cat5e phone cables to various points in the house.

What I want to do is connect the DSL line to my router without needing a splitter and connect the new Cat6 cables to the router. I want to connect the Cat5e cables to the incoming phone line.

However, I can't maintain my internet connection unless I interconnect both incoming lines. Because I have not yet been able to get either the phone or the DSL to function from either line separately I am not sure even which line from the alley brings which service.

What am missing in this? I will even appreciate someone having fun on this forum with my predicament. Go ahead. I just need a place to start.
