I'm switching cable companies and want to transfer all my recorded shows/movies from one DVR to the new one. Is that possible?

Probably not. Someone might be able to give you a more definitive answer if they knew the brands and model numbers of the DVRs and the service providers.

Not possible. DVR recordings are copy protected.

most of the dvrs are copyright protected it won't even let you transfer to a different account on same provider. basically if you connect any other device it will ask you to format disc. you can only transfer from dvr to hard drive and back also if changing dvr's on same account ( replacement or upgrade ) make sure the new one is active on the account or it will also format
