Question looking for fencingesque scoring circuit
Hi, i need help finding a circuit that will make make one led light up each time a practice sword with metal strips hit a metal breastplate. i need about 5 leds but i need them light up and stay lit as they're activated. my inspiration comes from the scoring systems used in fencing, but i cant find a circuit online. this is probably my last shot.

thank you

austin

What you need to do is use proximity switches to light the LED's.

Something like this: http://www.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea...102230&Site=US

This guy has a guide to build a touch sensitive keypad, I suppose it could be of help:

To make the LED's light up one at a time will be a bit more difficult. You'll probably need to program a PIC IC to accomplish that.

Wouldnt it be easier to just sharpen the tips and count the red spots? Why always look for technical solutions to something?-this younger generation (shakes head)
