Nope.... thats the main reason people are told that laptops are not gaming machines. Even the ones with removeable video expansion slots usually only have 1 or 2 models to choose from as a replacement and normally these aren't any kind of "upgrade" just different brands and manufacturers.

Usually the only three things that are easily changeable is CD drive to DVD drive or DVD burner, Hard drive upgrade, Ram upgrade. Other than that laptops are what they are unless you add some kind of expansion to their slots I.E. PCMCIA, USB or firewire.

You can also do CPU upgrades on some if you are brave enough to crack open the case.

Yeah but even thats limited usually to a maybe 200 - 400 mhz upgrade usually depends on the board and what speeds chip it supports. And sometimes if you already bought top of the line CPU for the model you can't even do a upgrade. Usually I don't even worry about CPU upgrades not worth the expense/time to do it.

You are right it is upgradeable. It's just not anything I want to plunk money into upgrading.

The big reason I don't want to have a laptop. Unless the boss wants to buy me one!

AFAIK the majority of branded machines are not upgradable (as in excluding memory and hard drive). There are however companies that sell upgradable notebooks.

Not alot you can do besides Ram and and case modding, and bigger HD. And even in those cases you are pretty limited. Especially since the Vaio's look pretty cool anyway. = )
