PC build
Hi,
I was looking for some advice. I have an Intel 3.2Ghz P4 Northwood chip socket 478 and 1GB of DDR Ram.
Now I am trying to choose a compatabile motherboard and I was looking at the
Asus P4S800D-X, Sockel 478, ATX
Would anyone have any information on the quality of this board?

Also the main use of the PC will be for Music so I was looking at buying these Logitecxh speakers
Logitech Z-5450
They are fairly expensive so i want to ensure that they will work with the Motherboard. The boards spec claims that it has 5.1 surround sound
Audio Output Sound card - SiS964 - 5.1 channel surround

But would it be better for me to buy an additional sound card?

Lastly I will also need a fan so can anyone recommend a suitable make/model, the quieter the better...

thanks in advance for the help.

If you want music and are an audiophile I would disable the integrated and go with a high end add-in. I myself am half deaf and anything above no sound sounds good to me so I use the standard outputs. Really it all depends on your needs and what you can accomplish.

Its kind of like the things I equate to gamers and trying to squeeze a few MS response time from something yet they may just not have the fastest reflexes to begin with... If you don't have the reflexes the response time isn't going to do diddly for you.

Or another anology is the Video quality and trying to get faster FPS but your eyes may not be as good as someone who can see a high FPS and you only are able to notice a lower FPS so in this case the super best video card won't help you out.

Thanks for the support guys,

Just on the review link it leads me to believe that the asus board won't easily install windows XP, is this correct. I don't want to have to use a floppy drive...basically just looking for the easy option

thanks again
