System Restore CD
First off I would like to say hi. I am new here. I do not have much computer knowledge so please be easy on me . I am looking to get a new computer. But, I have been told that most or all new computers don't come with a system restore cd???? I have always had one and needed one. Is there anyway for me to do this myself? I know you can back your your own files, but the whole system? Any help would be "Greatly" appreciated.

Thanks, Bryant

Hi bg77

Welcome to Tech Support Guy Forums!

What brand of computer are you looking at?
I purchased an HP Pavilion from Walmart a few years ago and just purchased my System Restore CD's from HP this past spring.

I have read that now computers come with the ability to create your own System Restore CD's. A once or twice option that you should take advantage of as soon as you get your system set up.

Sorry, I guess I forgot that info. I am looking at a HP A1510N. The guy told me that they don't sell system restore cd's anymore. I thought that was weird. But, for some extra cash they will do it for me.

Yours *may* come with this option, so you could do it yourself, learn something and save a few dollars.

Since you didn't mention it, can I assume this is a Desktop PC and not a Laptop?
