Question In Simple English Please
Can someone please explain to me about an acre referring to land? How does one know the size of 0.8 acre? How about 0.42 acre? I have looked at conversion charts and the encyclopedia but I'm not sure it was in my type of English. How do these measurements translate to feet? I must have missed this part many years ago in school.
Thank you.

An Acre is unit of land area used in English-speaking countries equal to 4840 square yards or 43560 square feet.

1.0 Acres = 43,560 Sq Feet
0.8 Acres = 43,560 x 0.8 = 34,848 Sq Feet

If you don't like that one, here's the google search I used to find it so that you can look up others: http://www.google.com/search?q=feet+...nversion&hl=en

640 acres = 1 sq. mile. It's also called a " section of land " at that point.

typing a string in the search box of www.google.com such as '0.8 acres in square feet' activates google calculator.
