re-using a camcorder electronic viewfinder
I have a broken (transport) sony camcorder, model CCD-F70 and I was wondering if I can remove the CRT electronic viewfinder and connect it to an alternate video out source, like a digital camera or a portable dvd player. I don't know if the EVF is a standalone unit or if it depends on other circuitry inside the camcorder. So, what do you think?

Most EVF are not stand-alone as it is pointless to duplicate a lot of the electronics when you are trying to achieve miniaturisation and conserve battery use. Its 99% certain to be a function of the main circuity and to use the main CCD.
