If you have two flasher relays (I do on my '87 Blazer, 1- for turn signal; 1- for emegency blinkers), swap them and see if that corrects problem. I suspect blinker relay, although could be short in line. If latter, good luck!

if it was a flasher then the other side would not work either if it was a relay

if front and rear are out my guess would be it is something in the turn signal lever

assuming when emergencies are on that both sides will flash.

So, if he has two flasher relays, what's the harm in trying?? Not sure of the circuitry, but would suspect the flasher relay has two N/O contacts.

As wacor eluded to...first thing to try is the four way flashers...do they work?

you guys are stubborn

unless there are flashers for the emergency and the turn it is not a flasher issue

if the front and rear are both out then it is up in the steering column direction

if it is just one light it could be anywhere

The relay turns the light OFF (not ON) each time it blinks.
If the light remains on then the bulb and wiring are fine. The relay is bad or the place the relay plugs into is rusty.
