I was thinking Hard Disc Drive.
You must be referring to the Mobo connections vrs. the tower connections.

Maybe one of our builder wizards will need to know your Mobo Make n Model.

Non-amplified speakers will need a sound card.

ok for the hook ups on the mother board on the connectors there will be an arrow or plus or dash which is the positive side in the connections.
