Do i need cdrom or floppy drive to boot?
im trying to put together a small system, but until recently it had never occured to me whether it will run without a cdrom or a floppy drive.

Right now i have a hd connected to the board...thats it. my buddy said that it depends on the board...so i dunno... mine is Asrock...something...will post the exact model later

My plan was to install windows onto the hd using my existing system's cdrom, and then just run windows off the hd.

Your going to need some kind of CDROM,better yet a DVD drive to install programs.
A floppy is optional, but they can come in handy.

or a cd (or dvd) burner. Then you can save anything you want off of it also.
