computer not working
I am using an old computer right now, the one I had just will not work anymore. I know I must take it in for someone to look at.I have 2 issues on that.
The first is when the broken down computer did work, a strange sound would come from the tower. I cant remember what it sounded like but if I tipped it on to the front, with the back up it would stop. A couple days before it went off, there would be nothing on the monitor. I would try to restart it and if I was lucky the beginning would start up and then where all the information would show up while starting up, it said it did not recognize some things like something on the memory was lost. Then one day I notices nothing was on the monitor and the light was yellow. I turned the computer on and off and heard it start up , the monitor light would turn green and then yellow but never got anything on the screen. I thought it was the monitor until I hooked up another monitor and it did the same thing. Does anyone have any idea what it might sound like?
Also everything is on the computer of importance all my memories of my grandchildren in pictures and etc. Any way to get them off?

If you are lucky, some other part of the computer other than the hard drive has failed. You should be able to remove the hard drive from the dead computer and hook it up as a secondary drive on working computer. As long as the old drive is not broken or its contents are not corrupted, you should be able to access and recover the data file from it and put them on the computer's primary hard drive or burn them to CDs or DVD data discs.

If the contents are of such great importance, didn't you ever consider backing them them up in some way? Even if I did not do regular backups, I would have been backing up the hard drive contents as quickly as possible if my computer started to act up as you described.
