Solved: Music Editing Help
Hey guys, One of my friend's club is going to perform at school and he asked me to help him make a music mix. I am trying to mix various amount of songs together and I was wondering if there is a way to make the transition from one song to another more smoothly. Thanks.

well you could stick two or more songs into one file. There are some good freeware programs out there that edit sound files. I recommend Audacity as it was in the Top Freeware list in PC Magazine several times. Not to mention the fact that it has more than double the editing features than Adobe Soundbooth! (But SB has more sound effects and rendering)

You could create a playlist in iTunes and add a crossfade so that songs fade in and out. You can find it under Playback in iTunes Preferences.

Hey Armless,

A friend of mine got this software called "Winamp"http://www.winamp.com/player

Quote:
Winamp is a free multimedia player made by Nullsoft. It supports numerous audio and video formats. It also plays streamed video and audio content, both live and recorded, authored worldwide. It has an extremely customizable media library, and allows you to rip and burn your favorite music CDs. Winamp has thousands of skins and plug-ins that allow you to change the look-and-feel of the player, as well as add new features. The player also has access to thousands of free songs, videos and online radio stations from SHOUTcast Radio and AOL Radio with XM.
He got the "paid version ($19.95 USD). Him and 10 other people contributed all their songs (8900 songs). My friend convert all songs to a MP4 format, created serveal "song list files".

He set this up on 2 LCD monitors, all this took him about 2 weeks to tweak it out.
He has this running though a nice amp, all he has to do is "click" on his play-lists, "click on a few buttons, and set back....auto D.J.

He and the others are giving this a a gift to a co-worker as a wedding present.
