Spamming: Can you help?
Hi you guys,

I have a strange question: (Read thoroughly before you answer!!!)

Where can I find information on how to become a spammer? Here’s why….

I am raising funds so that I can go from Stem Cell treatment in China (I suffer from Ataxia). I am from South Africa and my only intention is to send an e-mail to South African e-mail recipients asking for funds.

I have gone the media route and asking for major sponsorships but times are tough. My only option left is asking for funds via e-mail (ie. the spammer route).

How would I do this?

Please, my intentions are honourable, I mean no harm. (I know people hate spammers, I do to, but this is an option I have to explore)

Thank you

Riaan van der Merwe

Firstly, no-one on this site is going to help you become a spammer. It is illegal in normal society, and a particular annoyance to computer geeks. There are even people here who complain about the PM system for the same reason!

What is more Spamming would, in my opinion, be utterly ineffective for your purpose. The negative effect of being spammed is itself enough to ruin any response to a Charity appeal, and the noblest of intentions won't change that. Indeed combined with the fact that many consider all forms of stem cell research wrong (even the seemingly harmless Umbilical Cord blood method you are enlisted for) such an action would probably decrease the ammount of funding you get. Remember, people don't like spam even when it is offering a seemingly good deal, so how much less will they like it if they are offered nothing but a good conscience for their money?

I can only hope for your sake that you were mistaken in writting " My only option left is asking for funds via e-mail (ie. the spammer route)."
