It would not look pretty but you could buy some high quality plexiglas and find a way to temporary secure it to the front. Would not be cheap though and no matter how good the quality the picture will not be as clear. You might see if they make something for this purpose.

Yes they do make a screen protector and the size I need will cost about $169.00Plus shipping. I thought I could save some $ if I made up one myself.Thanks.

I'd find some polycarbonate sheets and duct tape them to the front. This is what I did for my 4 year old grandson's computer monitor, works great.

i would get a sheet of plexy glass that does not bend that easy and cut to fit i use my table saw then put small strip's of velcro on the tv the velcro is black and most tv's are black so it will be hidden and wouldn't hurt to rub some fine sandpaper on edge's of the plexy not on the face of the plexy on the edge's or you will see scratch mark's on the front i did this cause my wife bought my kid's the damm wie system and the controler's like to go flying when my kid's don't strap it on now they bounce of the plexy and not the screen i would rather replace the plexy than the screen .
