2 different places I hit on Google say 'hold down F1 while booting' to enter setup.

I must have been doing something wrong before as I couldn't get F1 to work before but now it does. I think the difference is to hold down F1 as you said rather than tapping F1 as I was doing. Think pad is a new toy, I just got to get used to it.
