Ms-dos
I upgraded to AOL 9.0 and it was working fine. The next time I turned on the computer, I received a message, MS-Dos if you click you erase files (something like that), I pressed OK. now I can't get on AOL and I tried to put in the AOL CD to bring it up again. But it said "Can't locate D Drive. Can anyone advise me? I'm not good with computers but thought I'd try this board before I take it to Best Buy to have a look at it. Thanks.

There is not quite enough info there to be much help.
The exact wording of the error would have helped

I assume D drive is your CD?

Its a bit worrying that you may have deleted something critical, with reference to MS DOS. What version of Windows are you using, and does Windows still load up and run OK?

What operating system are you using?

If you are using windows 98 and you have a Windows 98 floppy boot dics, hit start and restart in ms-dos mode.

When you are at the c:windows> prompt, type a: then press enter to access the floppy drive. type: fdisk /mbr and press enter, when u see the light going out in the floppy drive, take out the floppy disc and restart your system and your D drive should be there. Good luck!!!

it's possible you got a virus. I would boot to a recovery disk and run a scan to make sure there's no virus on your machine.
Then uninstall AOL and reinstall.
If you cd is not available, check your system properties to see if your system isn't running in compatibility mode. If it is, then you definitively have a virus.
