windows ME is using MS-DOS compatibility mode. Can anyone advise me please. I am not experienced in troubleshooting so PLEASE keep it as simple as possible as at my age I dont learn so fast! thanks Samo

DOS Compatibility mode normally means there is a driver issue somewhere, most likely with your motherboard chipset or with the IDE controller and drives that run it. I would look around in device manager and make sure there are no problems with any of the hardware listings in there first.
