I recently formatted my hard drive of my pentium to prepare it for installing windows 95. I can get it to boot and I installed the driver for the cd rom but the system will not recongnize it. Keep in mind I am working in DOS because I cant install windows without my cd-rom.

I would recomend using a floppy boot disk from Win98 machine. It will usually support more CD roms. See if you can have a friend make one for you or ask someone at a local shop.

The driver seems to be working ok but the computer doesnt seem to recongnize that the cd-rom drive is installed. I am ready to throw it out the window. There is no where in the bios to configure for a cd-rom either. I dont know what else to do.

You shouldn't have to configure the CD in BIOS.

It is taken care of by the drivers. Why do you think the drivers are working if the CD is not? What, exactly, happens? Are you getting a drive letter for the CD? Are you getting an error message?
