Ever since I installed Microsot Office 98 on my G3(OS8.1), I lost lots of fonts. They are stilll listed in my font folder in my system folder but they don't appear in any of the font menus for any applications whatsoever. What's going on here?????

Lightbulb Tweak UI
Try using Tweak UI it has a Font Repair feature. It may be on your Windows CD or you can download it from Microsoft.

Question Tweak UI
You suggested I use Tweak UI which would be on my windows CD. I have a Mac. Is this available for MACs from Microsoft??? Or is there a comparable program that you know of for Macs? Thank-you.

The font issue
Actually, some fonts that integrated within Office 98 are all basically True-Type fonts. Alot of the fonts that are in a Mac system folder have the font "suitcases" and the "postscript" counterparts...If you take a look in your system folder (Fonts), make sure all of your fonts have the suitcase and postscript icons, this could be the problem. Also, maybe some of the fonts that you had in your fonts folder, have incompatiblities with Office 98?

Question I don't understand-is there a fix????
Thank-you for your reply but I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. I checked my system folder and I have many suitcases with little A's on them. (Does this mean that there are postscript fonts in the suitcass?). I also have other fonts that are said to be PostScript fonts although the icon next to their name apppears in two diferent ways. I also have some fonts that are just said to be "fonts." How do I know which fonts are incompatable with MS Office? Is there something I'm supposed to do with all the fonts in the system folder? And why does this affect all of my applications???? Seem like if its imcompatible with Office, they should still work with Claris but I get only the same fonts on the fonts menu in all my programs. I am so perplexed!!!
