Redirecting To Mutilple Files
Hi there,

I'm looking for a way to redirect the output from an echo statement to multiple files in a DOS batch file. Does anyone know If this is possible?

Cheers

Never heard of that option, obviously it would be pretty simple with a custom piping utility. What exactly are you trying to do?

I was hoping there was a way I could echo something to 2 files using basic DOS commands.

Just echo the line twice, to a different file on each line.

If you have a lot of lines to make "double echos" then just make a subroutine that has the doube echos in it. Then just call the subroutine once per.

Batch job contends between but not including the --- lines. This echos the chosen line to

<Contents of batch job 1>
---------------------------------------------------------
... batch commands ...
CALL ECHOIT This is going to a bunch of files.
... more batch commands ...
CALL ECHOIT This is another echoed lines for a bunch of files.

---------------------------------------------------------

contents of ECHOIT.BAT
---------------------------------------------------------
echo %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 >first.txt
echo %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 >second.txt
echo %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 >third.txt
echo %1 %2 %3 %4 %5 %6 %7 %8 %9 >fourth.txt

---------------------------------------------------------
