batch question
I am trying to run a batch job in DOS to execute a file located at

c:\documents and settings\administrator\prac1 and the executable is called typedos. I am having trouble with the syntax and I was hoping to get some help. Here is what I am using for syntax in my batch file

echo off
cls
c:\documents and settings\administrator\prac1
typedos
cd\batch
menu.bat
exit

Batch is the directory in which my batch files are located. I appreciate any help.

typedos
cd\batch
menu.bat

Dont know if this would work, try removing that and adding typedos to the end of this:

c:\documents and settings\administrator\prac1

When you specify \BATCH, you do realize that takes you to the root of the current drive, right? Also, if you want to change the directory to the folder in question, you need to do the following batch commands. This assumes that the folders prac1 and batch are both in the \Documents and Settings\Administrator folder. This batch job will also be able to run from any location and still function.

@echo off
cls
c:
cd "\Documents and Settings\Administrator\prac1"
typedos
cd ..\batch
menu
exit
