I have just rediscovered some old disks that I had backed up from my very first computer. I believe it was running MSDOS 6.
The files were backed up using MSBACKUP and I think DoubleSpace was running also. When in Explorer the file extension is "001".
I currently run 98SE and am trying to work out if these files are still retrievable. I found a copy of MSBACKUP but when I switch to MsDos form Windows I can't get it to run. Am I missing some basic steps out here?

I think msbackup was a windows app...go to start>run and type in msbackup.

There are versions of MSBACKUP for both DOS and Windows.
