Apple IIie CD Player
I know nothing about MAC computers. I hooked one up for a friend, but she couldn't get the CD player to work. A block came up asking if the disk should be initialized. Not knowing to initialize or not, she clicked on no. Should she have clicked yes? I should mention it is a music CD not a program. Can the MAC play music CD's? She has the ergo keyboard with the touch pad instead of a mouse. How can she get the CD player to work if it is compatible to play music CD's? Thanks... Liz

I think she misses a needed extension in the system folder for opening pc or music cd's. Which OS are you using? 8.xx 9.xx?

I would suggest you post your question on this site: www.macaddict.com on the forum section (balloon help).

If its a burned copy, some do not work on MACs. the reason being because the disc was made on a PC, therefore the disc is (more or less) formatted for PC. It is unreadable for a MAC. Can she read other discs?

ok. I have a couple discs that i had burned for DOS format. My MACs wont read it at all. Perhaps a coincidence... Other cd's i burn, Sometimems my MAC's wont read. the problem lies in how you burn it, what speed, and what you encoded it with...
