Smile Batch file question
Im a manager of some dorms on a campus and I rent out 20 laptops for two or three days at a time. The system I have works out great and noone complains about usage. I just use general accounts with no passwords. Before I give out a pc I clear it of whatever the previous user was doing. I use a batch file that clears everything whenever the pc is rebooted, except for I cant figure out how to work in deleting the 'Temporary Internet File'. Heres what I use right now.

::This is in the startup file.
@echo off
cd C:\Documents and Settings\*****\Cookies
del *.txt
cd C:\Documents and Settings\*****\Local Settings
del /f /s Temp
cd C:\Documents and Settings\*****
del /f /s My Pictures
cd C:\Documents and Settings\*****
del /f /s My Douments
cd C:\Documents and Settings\*****
del /f /s My Music
cd C:\Documents and Settings\*****
del /f /s History
ipconfig /flushdns

pause

Ive tried working in the Temporary Internet Files different ways but cant get it to work, any ideas??

Another consideration would be to create a clean "image" of the system.... This would delete files that were added or restore files thet were deleted to the laptops - that are not addressed in your dos scripts.

Yep, I have to agree with the clean image approach. This solves any issue that might have been created by the previous user and brings the machine back to a known state.

You could use something like Acronis True Image to make an image of each laptop onto either a network drive or a USB external drive and just restore them when you get the machine back.

I have to "third" that suggestion, a clean image install is always best but can take time.

Probably the reason while it is more difficult to wipe out "Temporary Internet Files"
is because it usually resides under the hidden folder called "Local Folder" under the users profile.

Another option would be to install a program whichs runs on startup that cleans
all of these files away. I use a program called Crap Cleaner ( see http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4191.html ) which has an option to do this upon startup,
and you can customise it for various applications, its free and has no spyware/adaware.
