Unhappy power Mac 7300 won't boot up
my daughter asked me to put in additional ram and a external modem for her. I have never worked on a Apple before so thought it would be good practice. It had been sitting for over a year. when I first turned it on it came up fine I got the information I needed and shut it down, when I restarted it I got the floppy with the ? so used the cd and it came up but the time was off so thought maybe the battery needed replaced. I replaced it and it came up fine several more times no problem.
I then unplugged everything and sit it in the corner until the ram and modem arrived.
l put the ram in then plugged everything back in. I hear the start up tone, the monitor green light comes on for a second then goes off. the monitor never comes on.
I can start it up with the power button on the keyboard but after that it also is dead.
I have tried to boot with cd, I have tried taking the ram back out
I have tried to plug the keyboard in on the monitor
I have tried unplugging and replugging
any suggestions?
Thanks again
p.s. you guys are wonderful
