Blackeberry Pearl
I am very new to this so I apologize if I am doing this wrong or asking in the wrong place but.... I noticed that when I synchronize my Outlook contacts with my Blackberry Pearl I am not getting all of the information synched. When I look at the items to be updated they continue to list the ones I am looking for.

Two things to note, first I always get an error message when I synch that says:

Intellisync Unable to write or update application data

The second thought is that I believe I am synching back and forth between both devices and perhaps I should only be updating in one direction, from my computer to my phone. If that is the case I am not sure how to sinch in only one direction, I cannot seem to find that option.

Please help.

Thanks

Cayenne

Thanks for the quick reply but none of these seemed to work. Part of the problem is that I cannot find a link to Intellisync. In my desktop manager I have no link to Intellisync. Although when I sync I do get an error message from Intellisync. I have always received this message. I believe I have only been having this problem for a few weeks. All my appoinments are backing up properly and while I am not sure I think that some of my contacts have backed up properly, it is very confusing. Is there a way to only send the information from my desktop to the phone? If so I think that might be worth trying.

Thanks again.

Did you reinstall the software? If you can't run the synchronization software, you can't synchronize in either direction.

Well there is a problem with that as well. When I got the phone there was a problem with the software that came with the phone so Blackberry sync'd with my phone and downloaded it directly, I do not have a disc, per se.

I just checked and I am syncing all areas, i.e., calendar, notes, to do lists all no problem, it is only the contacts that are not snyching. I tried adding a new contact to the phone and sending it to the computer but that did not work either. If I check the synch records it clearly stopped working at a specific point in time and contacts has not synched since then. The information is saved in my computer but will not move to the phone.

I am really at a loss as to how to get this working again.

And you tried all the suggestions in the article I posted a link to? Specifically those relating to Contacts? It would certainly appear that you have some corrupt or invalid data there that needs to be dealt with.

Double Helix -

Thanks for all your help but as it turned out there was a glitch in the software and BlackBerry RIM eventually figured it out and fixed it by downloading the most up to date software.

Cayenne.
