Laptop Question
Do a lot of business traveling and require a laptop. VERY basic requirements. Internal wireless card/adapter, Microsoft Word & Excel, and a DVD player. Looking to use my AMEX points. I have 271,000. Can you folks please look at the attached options and let me know what you recommend?

http://www.membershiprewards.com/cat...ch/?N=11002100.

I can wait a couple of months to get the required points for the options that are within reach. Thanks!

BTW, hope it's ok to include the above link. My apologies if it is not.

All new laptops come with built-in wireless network adapters and DVD players. Laptops several years old meet those requirements.

None of the laptops listed on that site appear to ship with Microsoft Word & Excel. Adding any Office components will increase the price.

Dont worry about Microsoft Office. Sun Microsystems (If you can find it) Offers star office 8 free atm,(However something happened and finding it will take some time) And there is Open Office, which is the same thing too.

Not all new Laptops are guarenteed with Wireless network adaptors. I know some people having to buy notebook cards for wireless networks

also, The 232,000 or (If you get more points) 323,000 look good. both are well into what you want to do. Also are plenty-powerful enough for movies and some games.

The ability of the wireless adapter to connect to a network is dependent only on the protocol used (802.11a/b/g/n) and the security settings. If standard 802.11b/g are used, any laptop will connect. Only 802.11n connections require same-brand router and adapter configurations.
