Firefox update cause a crash in.. firefox
I installed an update to Firefox within the last week. After doing so the browser wouldn't change tabs, would freeze constantly, slowed the computer down to snail pace, and caused all other programs to stall. I experienced none of these problems when Firefox was closed. So after a few days of trying to figure out what was going on including multiple hijackthis tweeking and antispyware runs I decided to uninstall all of Firefox and delete all folders. I deleted a few other programs including Winamp.

More importantly after I installed the update I went into my event viewer and noticed that I had about a gazillion disk errors under the system tab. So I ran chkdsk. Twice. Both times it deleted some sort of Mozilla file or files. I wasn't able to write them down and I am unaware of how to pull up what files it corrected or deleted. This is what ultimately prompted me to uninstall all of my mozilla programs. After I did this I ran chkdsk again and came out in the clear. I did some quick browsing to see if others had the same problem but wasn't able to come up with anything.

I did have a trojan on my computer a few weeks ago but due to a thread on this site I think I successfully removed it.

I would like to make sure my computer isn't still going nutso or that I removed all of the spyware/malware, adware, or trojans.

Other info :
OS : Windows XP
Programs I have:
Hijackthis
Antispyware
spyware blaster
combo fix
vundo
avg anti virus
lavasoft ad-aware personal edition
and a very out of date mcafee. haha

I'm on a stock Dell from 2003-ish that hasn't given me any problems until lately.
Thanks!
