Sounds like RealPC doesn't have any XMS memory setup. Make sure the application is configured to provide XMS (not EMS) memory.

I'm not 100% sure...I haven't used RealPC in ages...I was more apt to use Virtual PC. Overall, I found Virtual PC to be a much better product. What version of RealPC are you using? I noticed on their (FWB Software) web site that they have some updates supporting Win98, etc.

FYI, this may help break things down for you to troubleshoot. The error code that Windows 95 is giving you indicates that it's trying to launch the MS-DOS extender in standard mode. This error almost always indicates the lack of XMS (eXtended Memory System). In DOS (which Windows 95 relies heavily upon), you have three types of memory:

Conventional (the first 640k)
XMS (Extended) - Anything after the first 1024k of RAM
EMS (Expanded) - Anything after the first 1024 of RAM

A proper Windows 95 installation should configure your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files (DOS system files) to provide both XMS and EMS memory. Conventional memory is always there by default.

Hope this helps!
