How to send e-mail using PalmM505?
Hi folks

Can anyone help me please? I have a Palm M505 and I just cannot seem to be able to send and receive e-mail using it. Perhaps I am using the mail application the wrong way, or perhaps I don't even fully understand how to send e-mail - I don't know but I cannot send or receive any messages.

I have MS Outlook on my XP Home Ed PC. I can sync my Palm with all other elements in Outlook i.e. tasks, Contacts and calendar - but not with e-mail.

Can anyone offer me some advice as to how I do this please. Can I send and receive e-mail from and to my Palm with Outlook so that any e-mail I write on the Palm ends up in the outbox of my Outlook application when I do a Hotsync?

Ta

using the mail process
Hi John,

To sync your palm with mail in microsoft outlook, you must be using the mail process. This is a separate process from sync'ing with your contacts, calendar, etc.

I have a Palm IIIxe, but I think the procedure should be pretty similar.

1. Right-click your Hotsync Manager icon in your system tray (if it's not there, start Hotsync Manager and then right-click the icon in the lower right-hand side of your windows desktop)

2. Select CUSTOM, and then choose Mail in the listbox.

3. Click Change, and then click the Mail Setup button.

4. Select Microsoft Outlook at the desktop mail application you want to sync your palm with.

5. Click Next and then click FINISH.

You should now be able to syncronize your outlook mail with your palm. I don't use the mail option on my palm, so as far as figuring out how to send and receive, you'll have to take care of that on your own. I suggest using the support knowledge base at www.palm.com.

Good luck!

Richard
