installing a firewire burner on a mac powerbook g3
im trying to install a sony firewire cd burner on my mac laptop which is a powerbook g3 and i need a website that can help me. i tried to install it but the computer doesnt reconise the burner so im looking for a website that would give me some help and also i need a website that would give me drivers if i need one

Howdy! I've never installed a Sony Firewire burner on a Mac, but, I have installed a USB one. Last I checked, Sony still sub-licensed their software from a company called Charismac (www.charismac.com).

Might want to give them a try...

hey there what OS are you running? you should try to run it on at least OS 9.1 , it comes with firewire drivers and makes things simple. if you own 9.0 i believe 9.1 is a free update

I used to own a mac...now i own a pc. Anyway....my sister has one and i help her. Ok.....did the cd burner come with a cd? if so....you have to install the driver, turn off the computer, plug in the wire, then turn your computer on. if that didn't work..let me know
