After installing ubuntu on my pc?
Im considering firing up an old pc by loading ubuntu on it from a cd,can anyone tell me once its up and running how i can find the name of my disc drives and other component to download the drivers,which parts of my pc will need drivers loaded ?

Only drivers you may need to install,would be ATI or
nvidia graphics drivers.
The system would usually alert you that they are available.
Everything else is usually automatically configured.
Should be able to find the drives in the top menu under
places.
Might need to click computer.

you might check the hardware requirements - it isn't just ms that wants MORE - as even the -uxes are beginning to require much more in the way of hardware than they used to
