Question CD-ROM install under Win3.1
Hi, Just installed a CD-Rom on a 486 running Win3.1. When I try to access the drive the PC reboots. In the BIOS I have the option to enter drive parameters for D: (cylinders, sectors, ect) I have "NOT INSTALLED" entered because I don't have a clue what to enter there. During POST it reports the CD-ROM installed.
The AMI bios is dated 1990. You guys have any ideas?

Try this. Change your video driver to VGA. Then see if it works.

The CD showing no installed on the BIOS is normal for a computer that is that old.

Actually, I'd be interested in seeing your mscdex line of your config.sys file.

Better yet, please post the entire contents of your autoexec.bat and config.sys.
