Linotype-Hell Scanner on Mac not responding
I have a Mac OS 8.6 and a Linotype-Hell Saphir Ultra 2 flatbed scanner. When the last series of rains/wind, the electricity went out a bunch of times. Despite the protection, something happened to the scanner connection in the computer.

When I restart the computer, there is a nasty large X over Scan in Adobe Photoshop. I checked the connections and everything is fine physically and the scanner is getting power. Any clues about what I should check software / OS wise?

Thanks in advance,
Snorii

I also posted this thread at software & hardware -> hardware, but thought it was appropriate here too since it is a Mac.

Hi.
Have just a couple of thoughts for you on this one, since I saw that no one else had responded.

1. Have you tried re-installing the driver for the scanner?

2. Have you tried moving your adobe photoshop preferences from the preferences folder to a backup folder on the hard drive. Re-booting and letting Photoshop re-build the preferences?
It's worth a shot!!
