I upgraded a system from 95 to 98 2nd edition. Now at every shut down you get an error message. What does this .exe program do? Any suggestions for a fix?

It means that Windows is shutting down too quickly, and some programs are not getting shut down correctly.

Go to Start, Run and type in MSCONFIG. Go to Advanced and choose Disable Fast Shutdown and see if that does it.

There is also a shutdown patch available for SE that you might need, if that doesn't work.
