When I turn on my new computer (IBM Netvista X40i) a Daetek online window always pops up on the desktop after starting and I have to click it closed. Is there a way to not have this window or any others open when I start up. I just want to turn on the computer and get to my desktop. Thanks.

Hi:you might want to take a look at 2 places.
Start/run,type in msconfig,I'm assuming win98,click on the startup tab.In there you will see a list of items, that if checked, will start when you boot.See if you find the offending program there and uncheck it.Also at the bottom of the list are 2 items,Load and run.See if it is in there, and delete it or comment out the Load/run statement. This will not delete the program, but just take it out of your startup task.
Also,start/run/programs/start-up,see what is in there and delete anything you don't want to start at boot time.
Hope this helps.

Not sure if this will work but it is worth giving it a shot.Go to Desktop. Then go to my computer. Then go to control panel. Then go to add/remove programs. Click on windows setup. If the program that pops up is there and is checked, uncheck it and see if that helps.
