hi i have a problem. i recently installed some files needed to get usb working in windows 95. and for some reason it caused the windows to crazh, it started saying something like this at started * error loading vmm32.dll or something . so i tried to do a repair by reinstalling the windows 95 over. now it loads up windows but i get this error * explorer.exe has caused an error bla bla. and it automatically shuts down. i read online and they said it had something to do with uninstalling internet explorer 4 or sometohing. anyways is there a way to fix this problem?

Windows 95? Your not going to find support for that anywhere. My best recommendation would be to upgrade to AT LEAST win xp

raven,
welcome to tech support guy,
i know you won't want to heaar this , but most probably, at this point, it would be much simpler and easier to just reinstall windows

the reason i say this is because the file - vmm32.dll - that you had trouble to start with - not only is it a most critical file - it is NOT a 'find-it-on-the-web-and-download' file - it is 'built' by windows during the install process

you might try what is called an 'over-the-top' install, it MAY work
- just start to do the RE-install as if you would be doing a regular install
- the critical part is to watch the screens
- the install will find your old install and tell you it has
- the install will try to default to c:\windows.000
- DO NOT LET IT DEFAULT THERE
- make sure to change it back
- YOU MUST RE-INSTALL TO C:\WINDOWS
that is so that it will OVER-WRITE the existing 'corrupted' files

ok?
