recover files through windows 98 Dos/command
I was told that i can recover files from a bad hard disk using windows 98 Dos/command. I dont know how to do this but i was told that even if i cannot see the hard disk when i open MY COMPUTER. its still possible when i use windows 98. so i want someone to advice me on these forum, i need to know how possible, and if its possible how can i recover the files.... HELP

Well, that depends on how your files are lost. By accidentally deleting or fomatting or hard disk crash. If you mistakenly deleted or formatted the files, you can use undelete and unformat command under DOS. But if your files are lost due to unknow reasons, the best way is to try a data recovery tool to recover your files.

the problem am having is, if i insert the hard disk in to my pc. i mean i do that as a slave, its hangs mine pc. what am trying to say is. i insert the hard disk into a casing, which enables me to access the hard disk as a slave. but the problem am having is, as soon as i insert the hard disk into mine pc, it hangs. so am wondering how do i recover the files from this hard drive? because when mine pc hangs i cant do anything on mine pc unless i restart... Help

Well, in this case I am afraid there may be bad sectors out there with your hard disk or MBR has something wrong. Suggest you to take the hard disk to a computer shop for further diagnose. See if they will have some solutions to recover your files and fix the hard disk. Regards
