I migrated from OE to Windows Mail when I purchased my new desktop machine (Lenovo, Vista Premium)about 9 months ago. No problems using Windows Mail until 3 days ago. All of a sudden I stopped receiving my incoming mail. I can send mail no problem. 2x checked all settings with my ISP (Cox) and everything is correct as I suspected. They can't/won't help any further and said it must be an issue with Windows Mail server (???)They just suggested that I use their webmail which I can do, just don't like it as much. Chcked that out this morning and had 37 messages in my InBox. ( My friends still love me...)From reading other forum posts, I disabled email scan in McAfee and still no go.

What do you suggest? and thanks......Maxomom (Paula)

I don't know if anyone here has any knowledge of Incredimail, but here goes.

Had saved all of my tags in the Animations style box and they are all gone.

Had filed and saved thousands of Incredimail stats/letters in that part of style box and they are all scrambled up...not in their correct folders. Contacted IM Help and no one there could understand what I was trying to tell them...

Don't want to lose everything but, at this point, am tempted to delete all of my stationery/letters and start all over. There is just too much to sort. Haven't a clue what went wrong...one day everything was fine and the next morning it was a disaster. Plus, I stopped saving my tags in My Documents...they were all in the IM style box.

Thank you for any help you can give.

Thunderbird has lost all my emails and follwing what seems to be great assistance from HEWEE on Sep 2007, I still am unable to retrieve the missing emails. The Thunderbird site is SO technical (for me anyway) and gives no clear path to follow.
I also checked some of the steps i.e checking to see if my Address Book addresses were intact (as described by Thunderbird), which they were.
Following HEWEEs advice, I deleted Backed up the Thunderbird Profile file complete, then deleted all files .msf, including all folders created in the MAIL folder (double checking that the Back Up file was unchanged) and then restarted my PC. When i opened Thunderbird once more, I clicked on the Inbox but nothing happened and i still have the same 3 emails which were collected frm my ISP when I took the action to create a new email account as required by Thunderbird after the emails had been lost.
Do I have to manually transfer the fles to a new named Profile??? Am totally lost!
Can someone please help me???? I have so many emails which I need recovered.
What do I do now>>>
Thanks for any assisitance from an understanding but NON techie

Once 10 min mark comes up, no other web pages can be connected. I get Page Load Error message and that "Firefox cannot find the server" at such & such.com. I have to reboot my computer to get a connection again and then that taps out after 10 minutes. I called my ISP and they took me through a list of instructions that did nothing to solve the problem. I tried Spybot/Ad-Aware/Avast to no avail. I've already cleared out the cache, cookies, temp files and that made no difference. I tried switching browsers from Firefox to IE and Opera, still no difference there. I'm anxious to fix this problem. Can somebody PLEASE help? I've already had to restart my computer twice just to fill out registration and type this message.

I have a very specific concern. I use a site called Mytoolbar.com to access my email. I have had no problem until a few days ago when I went to log on and a page came up that was not the usual page. The page was a long message about how to go green. This is OK, but It did not have any way to access email or, for that matter, anything else the site offers (business, etc). This is not specifically a technical question, but can anyone tell me how I can find out when the site will retrun to normal or how to now access my email?
Someone told me to contact the site administrator but I do not know who that is.
I have a Macbook and use firefox. If anyone can help me, in any way, I would very much appreciate it.

Whenever I open a new tab in an IE-8 window a bunch of the "Most Visited" sites pops up for selection.
I am deleting everything I can think of, closing IE-8. Opening IE-8 on my home page, doing another Safety>Delete browsing history, and the next time I open a new tab, the same blasted list shows up.
How can I make sure I clear out this list every time I close IE-8; either automatically, or manually?
Thanks.

Hi,

Looking for some information from anyine who has imported theri contacts and email from Windows Mail in Vista to Thunderbird.

I downloaded the utility from Mozzilla called "Import & export Tools" which is an Add On that is indicated as being able to import eml files to TB. I was not successful in using this utilty:confused:

If there is someone out there that has migrated theri email & contacts successfully maybe you could provide the strps you took to make this transition complete. I have been trying for three days now with no success.

I am moving from Vista to Win 7 and with no mail client in Win 7 I am looking to use TB rather than Windows Live One Mail.

Appreciate any help you can provide:up:

I dont have an issue with that I know the pit falls. However the documentation indicates that the valuetype of the registry entry to be changed is set to DWORD in the documentation where as the actual registry entry has a valuetype of REG_DWORD.

Has anyone successfully changed this or

does someone have any other ideas ??

That charge is ridiculous. On this site, we get free assistance by guys who want to assist others. Microsoft should give free support to customers. This is outrageous. As I recently got my first PC, I cannot afford to pay $49 every time I have a question.

Hello guys I'm having this problem that sometimes whenever I try to watch videos on my browsers it will not play immediately but instead waits till the whole thing gets buffered all the way to the end, at the same time when this happens whenever I try to download files it wont also start. While this anomalies are happening nothing else seems to be wrong. I can browse, torrents are working fine, I can even play online games.

The solution I've managed to do for now is to restart my computer since logging off and back on again doesn't do anything but I think restarting 3 to 5 times a day is not a healthy thing to do for my computer.

I am running on windows 7 ultimate and I use opera browser but I also tried using firefox and chrome but it's still the same.

I hope you guys can help me! And I don't want to believe that a clean install of my OS is going to be the only solution.
~oops sorry I think I poster on the wrong category, please feel free to put it on the place~

I just upgraded to a wireless router for my new laptop, and now the laptop will not recognize anything. All it says is dial up is available when you pull up the connect to. I have been on the phone with the internet tech guy for over an hour, but you guys and gals know more than they do so I am hoping you can help me.

The laptop that I have is a dell laptop running windows vista. It has a wireless on off switch on the side, but the blue light will not come on. does that have something to do with it?? What can I do to fix that problem if it is the problem??

The internet tech said that the router is functioning properly that he doesn't know what the problem is. So help me computer gods! I'll be awaiting!

Hi, I've been working on a customers computer who's complaint was that his internet was slow. I did all the usual things of cleaning up temp files, history, disk clean up etc and removed AOL as he's no longer with them. His internet has improved dramatically with an average download speed of 6.8 Mbps.
I can go onto any site like Mini Clip, You Tube, Facebook, MSN etc quickly and login/browse through the site with no problems. However when I go onto sites like ebay, Argos, Kays etc the main page loads up but i cannot browse through the products, I keep getting a time out error, or connection lost.
He's running XP SP2 (not updated to SP3 yet) Intel Pentium D (can't remember the speed) 1GB Ram, Norton Internet Security 2009. Ive disabled Norton which has made no difference, I've Scanned for Spyware and Malware, nothing there. the only thing I haven't done yet is an Antivirus scan and that's because it's late and I'd been at his home for 4 1/2 hrs. I've gone into the other three user accounts and each one has the same problem.
I apologise if this post is vague, any help would be really appreciated, and if there's any other info you need I'll try to put more detail up.

On my laptop, when I open my wireless internet connection and click "settings," I see a window that says "Select the services running on your network that Internet users can access".

There is a list of 5 such "services", all with checked check-boxes:
iC4500
iC5353
Skype TCP at (IP address)
Skype UDP at (IP address)
svchost (IP address)

I'd like to know what these are and what they're for. Does "Internet users can access" mean myself as the Internet user or people elsewhere accessing something on my computer?

Skype is not installed on my computer, so I am surprised to see it here.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Hi there,

I have recently changed from adsl to fibre optics and all of a sudden my mailbox Outlook Express 6 closes down and refuses to open. The only way I can acces my mail is to start or restart my machine and press the mailbox key on my keyboard and coax the mail reception tab in the left margin since the central panel closes the program. My operating system is Windows XP SP 3.

Can anyone help me please?

I have looked at the task manager and the program msimn.exe fonctions but flickers when Outlook Express is working.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
