When using Xnews to download multiple images; I can launch them as they are being saved to my hard drive. Windows Photo Gallery opens a new instance every time a new one is saved. Office Picture Manager does the same. I soon run out of memory and have to close one window for each picture I downloaded. I tried Irfanview (latest version), because it has "one instance of Irfanview" in the options menus, but get the dreaded " is not a valid integer value error. Is there a Vista image viewing utility that will open when an image is launched and close that window when another of the same type (usually JPG) is launched,. That would save on memory and Xnews crashing. It doesn't need the bells and whistles, just make it fit, preferably in the middle of the screen, have reasonably good quality, and leave when the next one comes. (Oh, and free too!) Thx paj692

Please help!

I am running Windows XP on my Dell laptop. I ran a free 30-day trial of Photoshop CS4. At the end of the trial I went to un-install it. Not sure what went wrong, but the computer froze during the Add/ Remove program un-installation process. Since then it will not let me do anything. Cannot un-install, cannot reinstall. Have tried numerous 'forced uninstall' softwares, manual deletion, everything.

Here is what happens: when I go into C:/ Program Files and click to the Photoshop folder, then try to delete it from there, it tells me it cannot delete it because the directory Hue and Saturation is not empty. I click through the folders to the Hue & Saturation folder and when I double click on it, the system says that 'the disk in drive C (which is my hard drive) is not formatted. Would you like to format it now?'

Obviously I choose No, I do not want to format drive C! I would back up files, wipe and reinstall, but I do not have my Windows disks. Please help.

I don't know if this is the right forum but I thought I'd start here.

I have a Motorola Entice W766.

I currently have pictures and video I took with the phone located in the phone's internal memory.

When I click on the mobile phone icon in vista, the device is listed as "V CAST Moblile Phone-Internal Memory". I can see the music files I uploaded from my computer to my phone via usb cable using vcast/rhapsody. But there are no picture or video files listed even though I know they are there because I can view them on my phone.

I did set all files and folders to not hidden using vista.

So, how in the heck do I find the files? And then, how do I transfer them to my pc?

Any help appreciated.

I installed an old( windows 95) version of MGI Photosuite and now cannot uninstall it. It is not showing on my " uninstall or change programme" list but is showing in my "show all programmes" list. I have tried to "system restore" but that didn't work I got a message saying due to an unspecified error system restore had not been able to change anything. I downloaded "RegCleaner" but this hasn't worked either and now I can't uninstall that . My laptop is running very slowly now and I think it is due to these programmes. I am using Windows Vista on a Toshiba Satellite Pro laptop. Any advice please?

I bought a referbished Canon ZR65MC off Ebay. Works great and it takes gr8 pixs but I have not been able to figure out how to down load the digital video to my computer. I found out it needed a firewire cable so I got one (IEEE 1394 4-Pin Male/6-Pin Male FireWire Cable) and still nothing. Do I need somekind of software so the computer can find the camcorder?
I'm trying to use the windows movie maker and it says it can not find any
video device.
My puter is an HP Pentium 4 with about a 3.2 Gig prosesser and about 1 gig of ram and runs XP.

I crop and design new pictures on my vista OS in Photoshop cs2. Once I'm done the changes I flatten and save it as .jpg. When I upload the pictures to the server and try opening them on a XP OS they work fine, the problem is when I try printing them on the XP, both sides of the picture gets cut off. To add a little more detail, when using XP OS and opening/viewing .jpg pictures in “Windows Picture and Fax Viewer” they come out fine. But when I try to printing them, in “Full page fax print” they come out fine, perfect, but when I try “Full page photo print” both sides of the picture get cut off.

Yeah, I need to come up with a HD/Flash camcorder to do some YouTube and music site videos for a band project.

I don't know much about the current crop of camcorders.

I think my top priority is picture/optical quality per $ with everything else pretty far down the line:

I'm going to be shooting in a small studio (a converted living room) with tripod and lots of auxiliary lighting, so I won't need a camera with a fine low-light or long optical zoom capabilities. Because the footage will probably be fairly heavily treated in editing, I may not need technically perfect color. I would like remote as I may be doing some shots of myself with no help.

I don't need to impress anyone with the "pro-ness" of the camera, so the brand is not an issue so I don't want to pay any extra bucks for the name cachet. It can have a metallic pink tourist-girl finish, I don't care.

What I do need is the best optical quality and picture stability can get for the bucks. You may also be aware of features for this kind of project that I have overlooked, and if so please suggest them to me.

With the above in mind, what meaningful specs/features should I be looking for when perusing camera technical descriptions? What camcorders suggest themselves here for +/-$500? That's the top limit and I shop HARD, so I may find a camera on long sale that meets my needs for very much less than that.

Any suggestions where to look for the longest deals? Fry's locally has some unexpectedly excellent prices on sales, but online sources are great, too.

Many thanks for any good advice on this!

This isn't a list of problems but a few things I found a camera useful for.
1. I needed to replace a fan control mounted high on the wall. The manufacturer information and model is small print on the narrow base, impossible to read from my bifocal glasses. I took a photo using closeup setting and viewed the info on my computer in a blown-up size.
2. I broke one of those "European" style cabinet hinges and needed either an identical one or one with identical mounting screw locations. I took a photo-resized it to match the actual hinge and took that to the hardware store and got the replacement.
3. I replaced the engine on my pickup and wanted the wiring and tubing to be routed as the manufacturer did-again-a few photos proved invaluable hooking up a hundred or so connections. (this was prior to digital photo-done using old-fashioned camera.)

The only solution I can find suggest removing all versions then redownloading Picasa again.
I am on dialup-and that last version I recall was huge and took hours to download.
There must be some simple means to rebuild the index used by Picasa-and I should be able to remove it and/or rebuild it but I cannot determine which file it is.
Any I deas? (the Picasa3 editing works fine when I open a picture-OPEN WITH.)

I took pictures at a family wedding with a Cannon Rebel Camera. They came out great and I even used on for me wall paper. Then I started having problems with the computer so I copied the pictures to an external hard drive and had the computer reformatted. Once it was up and running, I copied the pictures back to the hard drive and even though they are in the same folder, same size, some will open up large and can be used as a wall paper and some only open in a thumbnail size and if I enlarge it, it gets blurry. Anyone know How I can change the attributes back so when I double click on it, it opens full screen like some of the others? P.S. I tried opening it with infrview, internet explorer, microsoft picture viewer, etc....

Hi!
I have photoimpact x3 and just started using it to make cards, stationery and such back in August. I figured I should take some online class to learn more about PIx3.
I am in a wonderful class. We go at our own pace. In one tutorial they showed how to move (dock) the different panels. Well I cant get my panels back where they are suppose to be.
I try to put the easy palette and such back in its original spot but when I close all the panels by clicking on the little arrow....none of the panels move because they are not in the area they should be and I cant figure out how to lock them back in place.
Also when I moved them around I lost the ability to minimize each window.
Could you help me please?
Thanks And God Bless!

Hi Guys

I have a problem. I'm new to CS4 having used Adobe Premiere 6.0 in the past and I have never had this issue when importing .AVI files. What happens is that the file play fine in my windows enviroment and on all my players VLC,DIVX, Windows media player.

But as soon as I import these files into my project at 29.97 frames the video plays really really fast and the sound plays at the normal rate. If I try to change the frame rate the sound also changes. Now here is the strange part. If I convert the files to MP4 they play fine! but the quailty of the video takes a massive hit as you know.

I tried to convert the files to .MOV, MPG (which the program won't play) and most other types of video files but MP4 seems to be the only one that works! When I really want the higher quailty .AVI. Again the files play fine outside of CS4 Premiere and I have already converted them from a Panasonic AVCHD encode format.

Please if anyone has any advise it would be great as I have to get this sorted for a x-mas present!

Have operated this system for 8 months after purchasing Kodak ESP AiO-3
until it would not scan.
Receiving Error 1-2036.
Kodak "Help" after lengthy discussion, requires I increase RAM to 512MB.
The carton information at the point of purchase indicated 128MB RAM required. Not 512MB.
Kodak sent a new installation disk Version 4.2. No improvement and Windows dialog box says the software is not recognized by Windows.
Most of the time, installation is OK until installing Printer Drivers.
Thanks in advance for any info available.

I need smarter--than-me folks' help here, please.
I put in a system for a customer whose old machine needed killin'. Replaced with a Compaq DC510 running Win XP Pro SP3. System runs great. But the customer has a "all in one" type multi-function printer and a Logitech vidcam, headset, etc for Skype, and a Canon A1000is Camera. Logitech cam works fine, printer was a pain in the francis but got it working. Problem is that Canon Powershot is not recognized by Win XP if the printer is plugged in [USB]. If I unplug the printer and then plug camera in I can get it working, but I really need all these things workable without conflicts.

Is this a USB driver problem? Anyone have some debug or fix suggestions?

thanx mucho

I am thinking of purchasing the TZ6 over the TZ7 as its £40 cheaper but as far as I know the only difference between the two is HD video recording and 0.3 inch bigger screen

- is that the only differences?

thanks

Hello -
For a long time I was a happy user of Picasa (first version 2, then 3) on my HP laptop running on Windows XP. Then one day when I clicked on the icon, it refused to open. Hmm. I kept trying, went to the origin file in the Programs folder and clicked on the .exe file, still nada.

Eventually I decided it had gotten corrupted somehow so I uninstalled it using the windows uninstall feature and then reinstalled it.

Twice, actually.

Still no action.

I'm really sad and bewildered. I went to Google for help and got nowhere. Hoping you wonderful people may have a clue what has gone screwy here.

Thanks!

I have the Kodak EasyShare software to upload and edit all my photos. My internal hard drive was too full so I purchased an external hard drive understanding that I could move my music and picture files to it in order to free up a ton of space. It worked with my music files. I right clicked, dragged and selected "move" from the C drive the external hard drive for my iTunes library. When iTunes opens, it understands that the music files are now in a another location. This process does not work with my Kodak EasyShare software. If I move the photo library, the software just claims that the pictures can't be found.

Has anyone successfully moved their Kodak pics to an external hard drive and still been able to use the EasyShare software?

When I select an object, and click “Modifier List”, 3DS Max crashes.

I tried lots of methods to solve this problem,

- installing the latest version of all the possible drivers that might affect 3DS Max
- installing all the hotfix
- reinstalling 3DS Max
- installing 3DS Max instead of 3DS Max Design
- changing “hsds.dlm” to “hsds.old”
- changing “hsds.dlm” to “hsds.dlm.off”

My lecturer said that it might be my RAM problem. But my senior said that 2GB RAM most probably wouldn’t cause 3DS Max to crash because a lot of the other seniors’ laptops had 2GB RAM as well and theirs did not crash.

Then she mentioned that it might be because Acer’s processor might not be as good as HP that’s why it crashes.

Can anyone help me? I need the solution urgently otherwise I would fail that module in school!
