hey, i've recently constructed my computer, approx. a month ago, and it's been working absolutely amazing until about a week ago and i can't seem to locate the problem. Everything seems to be slowing down and it's driving me up the wall. Sometimes it's so bad i don't even want to turn my computer on, which is a really big deal. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Slowdowns are almost always caused by infections unless they are from something much more obvious, like a bad program. What uses the CPU and what has the highest CPU Time? Have you scanned with more than one scanner? Do you have one AV installed (more than one can slow things and reduce security)?

i have avast and malwarebytes antimalware which i use almost everytime i shutdown. how would i check what uses the cpu? what am i looking for? thank you for replying

can anyone please help? i have found a few viruses, and deleted them but the games and windows still lags a bit, any suggestions?

Does the slowness start immediately or after the PC has been on awhile....is it just slow online

If lag continues...you could Format the PC

it varies, sometimes it is straight away, and sometimes it takes about half an hour.

If it happen a week ago ... just use system restore... back to one week to see what happen before you reinstall.

will that cause me to lose any files? What will change if i system restore? and it happened more than a week ago, about two and a half

To see what uses the CPU press ctrl+alt+del and bring up the Task Manager. Look in the list of active processes and see which ones is using the most CPU, do this when you are just sat at your desktop. Reply here with the names of the processes.

A system restore should not affect any user files etc.

No, if you format it you can reinstall with the same CD and license key. Bare in mind that any data that isn't backup up somewhere else will be lost.
