This probably belongs in the hardware section, but yes, that CPU can take on any game. Your GPU is twice as good as mine (gt430), and I get ~28 fps on BFS, skyrim, etc. You will probably get 40+ fps.

Ok, and thank you.
I am having some problem with Battlefield 2 Bad Company. But it isn't hardware it is something else. Possible because it is a Steam game.
I am also using something called Game Booster 3 to disable some unnecessary stuff during gameplay. On the other hand I am only using the motherboard in "normal" mode. Should I go to overclock mode. Asus has 3 settings. normal, fast, extreme.

Anyway, do I need to go to the extreme mode?

Again, thanks for the assist.

What sort of problems are you having?

I have BC2 through steam running on a Core i5, 4gb RAM and a GTX460 and it runs fine on maxed out settings.

Single player mode
I started out with the single player part of it and I get in a raft to go capture a Japanese scientist and it stops. The screen goes black and that is it.

It is a Steam game so I re-downloaded it. I thought maybe I had a corrupted file but, it is still happening

Thanks for all this help.

-----------Edit---------------------------------

In multiplayer it completely kicks me out of the game. It shuts it down and displays the folder I open it from on the desktop. Anyway, it only works for about 30 seconds and then stops.

Does BF 2 Bad Company have an update/patch. I read about this on the web but, can't figure out how to get it through Steam.

I also am still having a lot of stopped games. I did finally get far enought to use a knife to kill an enemy soldier on a bridge. If that gives you an idea of how far I get before it boots me off.

steam automatically downloads and patches your games. Try downloading drivers for your GPU.

No I don't believe that this belongs in hardware. It is more suited to games so can happily stay there

I downloaded an AMD driver program that says mine is up to date. However. It keeps freezing the screen and kicking me off. I hurry up the situation by Ctrl + Alt + Del. Once when I did this I saw a balloon (briefly, because it disappeared fast) that said my driver had recovered.

I am assuming it is the video driver and when it fails and recovers is when my game stops and then recovers.

I did make the screen resolution 1920x1080 match the settings for the game. I don't know if that helps.
I'm not sure how to proceed. Now BF2 is also messing up. Somehow this new configuration won't play it now either.

Thanks for your help

Does anyone know how to get rid of the Catalyst Interface and just use Radeon drivers. I think my machine is hanging up because the drivers keep stopping and then recovering. The driver program from AMD says I am up to date but, if it doesn't work, I don't care if it is up to date.

How should I proceed? Should I get a different card? Is this a bad card and it cannot be fixed? I don't know what to do?

thank you for your consideration
