ok embarassing story my son accidently deleted my game files for sims medieval by that i mean he deleteted the entire ea folder.

problem comes now I'd applied updates but because the game wasn't uninstalled but was deleted instead it won't let me reinstall because it's still registering a newer version of the game and of course running an uninstall fails due to there being no data to uninstall.

is there a work around or fix people can think of (running xp pro)

OR
When he deleted the files - are they still in the waste basket and can you restore from there
OR
also you could try a system restore
start>programs>accessories>system tools>system recovery
pick a date before the files where deleted

Hi Darias,

It's possible your PC hasn't noticed the change because the games registry files are still in-tact and are saying something different.

Go to Start -> Run -> Type 'regedit' -> Click ok

You'll see a new window open, this is the registry so be careful not to delete anything by accident.

Now follow these steps:
1. Expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder.
2. Expand the SOFTWARE folder.
For 64-bit systems, expand Wow6432Node
3. Expand the Electronic Arts folder.
4. Expand the Sims folder.
5. Right-click The Sims Medieval folder and select Delete.
6. Collapse the Electronic Arts folder.
7. Right-click The Sims Medieval folder and select Delete.
8. Expand the Microsoft folder.
9. Expand the Windows folder.
10. Expand the CurrentVersion folder.
11. Expand the Uninstall folder.
12. Delete the following folder if it appears:
• {83BEEFB4-8C28-4F4F-8A9D-E0D1ADCE335B}
13. Collapse the Microsoft folder.

After this, don't try uninstalling the game but try to reinstall. Hopefully your PC will take the hint.
